Improve Our Schools
Teaching our young to accomplish through goal-setting is a great idea. I am sure your students will benefit greatly by learning this technique to succeed, not only in an educational setting, but in life as well.
ReplyDeleteWhat are some examples of goals that kids might set? Will they be measurable? Will the goal(s) be able to be tied directly to achievement? I think goal setting is a great thing to foster, but because I teach such young children, I'm curious to know how it will all work!
ReplyDeleteThis is a really great research topic! What grade levels will you be asking to complete these tasks? I use self and group goal setting at the beginning of each year with my bands to set a guide for what we expect to accomplish over the year. It's always nice to have it posted and use it as a guide to redirect behaviors and actions that are detrimental to their goals. Best of luck to you in this journey!
ReplyDeleteI think this is a great project. I think this is a wonderful life skill that students need to learn and will benefit from it. It would be interesting to read some articles on this topic as well.I wish you the best of luck on this project, and I cant wait to see the results!!!
ReplyDeleteI Love This Idea! Goal Setting is definitely something I want to look into more for my students...hopefully as a motivational tool. How are the students making their goals? Are they doing it on their own, during a student/teacher conference, parent/teacher conference, etc? Are all grades involved or only upper grades? Excited to see what happens with your older students since I get them right out of elementary!!
ReplyDeleteGood Idea for research!!
